Events are the foundation of the VR industry. Why and how to stand out from non-obvious competitors?

When our team was thinking about the whole concept of our product back in the days, the idea of adding VR in regular celebrations came to the mind not that fast.

4 years ago it was really hard to imagine that 10, 12 and even 16 and more people would be able to play all together in the same game in virtual reality. Even the hardware was not really suitable for that a couple of years ago. With the development of Oculus Quest 2 the idea of selling not the games, but emotions and new experience during massive events, was born. And there are other reasons for that too.

Virtual reality technologies have just begun their “journey”. They are really new to most of people yet. And it is a great opportunity to boost your business with that now, when it’s almost brand new for the entertainment industry market.

In one of our previous articles we’ve already talked about target audience in a VR business. But today we stick to one important category. When in regular life it comes to planning a birthday party for the kid, graduation or some other events for friends and family - “moms” do that. And a common thought in their minds will be just a question— What should we do this time? As they were in the amusement parks, restaurants, playgrounds, arcades and computer clubs dozens of times. All of these places have offers regarding big events. And here come the VR venues. So when people are planning their special occasions or thinking of how they should spend weekends, they are considering VR as a part of all these entertaining activities and places. So that is why you should remember that your competitors are not only other VR centres, but every single part of entertainment industry in your location, as all of the things mentioned above.
VR games Itself is a huge difference and a way to stand out from the competition, but what else! Great attention should be paid to the atmosphere in your centre— music in the whole venue, service and even just a simple cleannesses can be a great first impression, as in regular amusement centres with a big square footage it is really hard to keep every inch of it fresh.

An individual approach to your clients' holidays can also become your distinctive feature. In addition to the usual package offers, create a "holiday designer" with which the client can change the duration of the event, change or add master classes and other activities. And such a catalog can include anything, right down to choosing the design of the recreation area and the color of the balloons and disposable tableware. All this will not only distinguish you from competitors, but also increase the quality and, accordingly, the cost of your services.

Of course, regular instruments, such as special offers and discounts still work good too, but even with that you can get more attention to your venue—just add some creativity. For example, announce a contest for the most original and interesting photo in your club. Don't forget to specify the conditions of the contest: be subscribed to your venue’s account and tag it in the publication. The coolest photos can be posted on social networks with the winners' tags and, of course, you can encourage these people with a discount or even free visit. However, thanks to such a contest, you can increase activity in the media space.
These are some key points and suggestions to boost your VR business and stand out among other venues in entertainment industry. But with your own creativity you can come up with even more interesting and innovative ways to benefit most from your place! Stay tuned with us to learn more about VR business!
